In rural India, women are the backbone of families, communities, and agriculture—yet they often face systemic barriers to education, employment, healthcare, and basic rights. Despite comprising nearly 70% of India’s rural workforce, only 18% of rural women are formally employed, and less than 30% have access to vocational training (Report by NSSO).
At Naari Samartha, we believe that empowering rural women is not just a social cause—it is a powerful strategy for sustainable development. Since our founding in 2004, we have been committed to enabling women to gain independence, confidence, and financial stability.
Through our free training centers in tailoring, weaving, and beauty therapy, we’ve empowered over 7,500 women with employable skills. Our health and eye care camps, serving more than 40,000 women, ensure that even the most marginalized receive essential medical attention. We also provide counseling and legal aid to victims of domestic violence, giving them a voice and a path to safety.
In addition, we foster leadership by helping women form Self-Help Groups (SHGs)—over 4,000 to date—which have collectively mobilized ₹8 crore in savings and microloans.
We provide grassroots-level solutions that address education, economic independence, health, and social equality for women in underserved rural communities.
